Denise Owusu-Ansah - Trustee

Denise became a Trustee of Advising Communities in 2013 having provided advice to the charity since 2009.  Denise studied Law at Leeds University and obtained a Masters in Medical Law and Ethics at King’s College London, before completing her Diploma in Legal Practice and training contract. Denise qualified as an employment lawyer at Bates, Wells & Braithwaite, where she specialised in providing employment advice to charities and not-for-profit organisations providing advice services. For several years, Denise provided advice to parents and carers of children with special educational needs and volunteered as part of the South West London Law Centres. Her involvement in legal practice and the voluntary sector has given her particular insight into the need and value of advice services for some of the most vulnerable in society. Denise currently advises Government departments on employment law as a lawyer within the Government Legal Department.
